(Beta vulgaris) Heirloom from 1892. Original selections were made from Early Blood Turnip by Mr. Reeves of Port Hope, Ontario, Canada. Nearly round blood-red 3" diameter roots. Great for canning and fresh eating. Prolific, good keeper.

Packet: 100 seeds.

Days to maturity: 60-65. Sow seeds outdoors as soon as soil can be worked in spring. Seeds will germinate in 5-10 days. Can be planted at two-week intervals for continuous harvests. All parts of the beet plant are edible.
